Common Eye Problems
Many people suffer from one form of eye condition or another. Common eye-related ailments include myopia (near sightedness), hyperopia (far sightedness) and astigmatism. Myopia is the condition only the objects that lie very close to the viewer appear clear and objects in the far distance are blurred. Hyperopia is its exact opposite. There are two schools of thought regarding the causes of Myopia and Hyperopia. One group believe that these two conditions are caused by the irregular shape of the eye; and the other group believe that myopia and hyperopia are caused by improper reading habits (reading in the dark, sitting too close to the TV, computer). Other eye diseases include cataracts, macular degeneration, and glaucoma. These ailments, however, are relatively more serious. These ailments are most likely caused by the natural degradation of the one’s body parts, thus these are apparent in people above 50 or 60 in age.
