Emotional Wellbeing

In today’s society, much emphasis is being placed on achieving perfection, especially with regards to the physical attributes of people. This is evident in the proliferation of gyms and sports clubs in every city. It is unfortunate, however, that society has focused too much on the exterior that the true essence of a human being, one’s inner self, has been and is still being overlooked. In this newly created striving-for-perfection world, it is not uncommon to find people whose emotional states are the complete opposite of their apparent physical conditions.

Emotional Well Being Defined

Briefly, well being can be defined as the state where one can firmly say that he is well, healthy and contented – and this applies to all aspects of a person’s persona, from his physical self, to his spiritual and even to his emotional state.

Emotional well being refers to the state of one’s mental health. It involves the way one feels, thinks, perceives and makes sense of all that goes on around him. A person with a healthy sense of emotional well being is characterized to have developed and demonstrated a high degree of comfort and acceptance of his true character, and is capable of recognizing the full range of his feelings and is in control of these.
