About DNA Testing

The cells in our body all contain a sample of our DNA. DNA determines inheritance of eye colour, hair colour, stature, bone density and many other human and animal traits. One of the most common uses of DNA testing is to determine whether two individuals are blood relatives (DNA paternity testing). However, it is being used more and more in understanding how diseases and conditions are passed from one generation to the next.

It is amazing to think that something that we knew nothing about until the nineteenth century can help to solve so many problems and queries, mysteries and crimes. Since it was discovered and unravelled over the past 160 years, DNA testing has helped us to advance in forensic and biological sciences.
